The long, arduous wait for “Grand Theft Auto V” on PC is almost over. While the next few days promise to be pure agony for those already at the end of their tether, PC gamers can at least take heart in the knowledge that the PC version looks to be the definitive edition of Rockstar’s huge open world game.

With the PC release just days away, new information has come to light detailing the PC versions impressive array of graphics options, modding, the hardware required to run the game at 4K, patches and more. Details regarding graphics options come via PCGamer and reveal a huge range of options, ranging from FXAA, MSAA and Nvidia TXAA options to texture, shader, shadow and reflection quality to ambient occlusion and tessellation.

The options also include the option for benchmark testing, as well as a Video memory slider that lets gamers know how much memory is being used by the game in MB. Players can also make tweaks that affect gameplay, by altering traffic density sliders, altering mouse and controller sensitivity and more.

In an interview with Gamespot, Rockstar staff members noted that in total, there are over 25 different parameters that players will be able to adjust in order to customise their “GTA V” PC experience. The team added that the game was intelligent enough to auto-optimise settings based on player’s hardware configurations upon startup, but those settings can be changed at any time.

The studio revealed another area of the game that received a lot of attention in the transition from console to PC; the Rockstar Editor. The Editor, which is exclusive to the PC version of the game, allows players to capture, edit and manipulate footage of their adventures in Los Santos. A video showing the new Editor can be seen on the Gamespot YouTube channel.

“We’ve increased the number of options available so that players can manipulate film speed, depth of field, different kinds of camera positioning and the various blends between them, filters, and more. Within the editor, players can add and edit multiple radio tracks to a single video, choosing from the huge range of score composed for the game as well select songs from the ‘GTA V’ soundtrack and even in-game advertisements,” said the team in the interview.

PC players will also be pleased to hear that Rockstar intends to keep PC patches and updates in sync with consoles as much as possible. The studio concedes that there might be slight variations from platform to platform, but all three will be kept on the same timetable.

Elsewhere, VG24/7 learned that the minimum specs required to run “GTA V” on PC at 4K are relatively modest. In order to hit a framerate of 30fps, gamers will need an AMD HD 7870 or Nvidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM. Doubling the framerate to 60fps, however, requires as massive step up in computing power, calling for a high-end SLI or Crossfire setup. “GTA V” will be released on PC on April 14.
