The Golden State Warriors are off to a hot start in the 2015-2016 NBA regular season after winning their first three games, but the defending champions will be tested when they face the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) at Oracle Arena.

The Warriors will meet the Grizzlies for the first time since their Western Conference semifinals showdown last year, where the Dubs won 4-2 in their best-of-seven series.

Reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry has been leading the Warriors in their first three games hitting 17-of-35 3-point attempts and 21-of-22 free throws, with an average of 39.3 points. Curry’s recent outburst was in the Warriors’ 134-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, where half of the “Splash Brothers” dropped 53 points including a career high for a quarter with 28 in the third.

“You just get better as a player and try to take it to another level. So that's what I'm trying to do this year," Curry, who joined Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, and Jerry West to became the fourth player in NBA history to score at least 118 points in the first three games of a season, said, reports Fox Sports . “I'm feeling pretty energetic, pretty strong out there on the floor, playing free, just having fun, so usually good things happen when all that comes together."

Golden State will try to break their own record of consecutive home wins, which was set from Dec. 14 to Jan. 25 last season, but the Grizzlies, one of the three teams to defeat the Warriors at Oracle Arena, are poised to give the defending champs their first loss of the season.

The Grizzlies were rusty in their season opener, losing by 30 points against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. But Marc Gasol and Mike Conley have stepped up for head coach Dave Joerger’s side, putting Memphis on a roll with back-to-back wins against the Indiana Pacers and the Brooklyn Nets.

“I believe the road helps build chemistry and forces you to spend time together and we’ve got to utilize that time,” Gasol said via the NBA’s official website .

Gasol had 20 points against the Pacers, but in their recent outing against Brooklyn, the Spaniard only finished with seven points after banging his right hand in a dunk attempt. Conley finished with 22 points and eight assists, surpassing Shareef Abdur-Rahim for third on the Grizzlies’ all-time scoring list, while Zach Randolph posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds in their 101-91 home win over the Nets.

Aussie big man Andrew Bogut is expected to return to the Warriors’ lineup after failing to pass the league’s concussion protocol. Bogut was diagnosed with concussion following an on-court incident in the Warriors season opener win against the Pelicans.
