If latest reports are to be believed, many gamers are regretting upgrading their operating system to the Windows 10 Creators Update. “Grand Theft Auto 5” players have experienced issues and bugs as well. The game’s launcher is crashing whenever players are opening it. Thankfully, there’s a fix.

The Creators Update enables Game DVR by default, and this is the root cause of the crashes and the various issues. Before coming to the GTA 5 fix, it is important to understand the issue first. The launcher is crashing immediately after upgrading to the latest Windows 10 update. Players have tried various tricks such as disabling Windows Game mode, all overlays, w10 game bar, antivirus, repairing the game, reinstalling video card drivers and social club, but to no effect. They have also tried playing in admin mode and Windows 7 and 8 modes too.

After a lot of analysis, gaming experts have found fault in the MSI Afterburner and RIVATuner. Once players update both these tools to their latest versions, majority of the “Grand Theft Auto 5” bugs will be fixed. Players, who cannot update these tools, may reinstall them. MSI Afterburner can be downloaded from MSI’s official website, while RIVATuner can be downloaded from Guru3D. Players should also not forget to download the latest graphics drivers on their computers. Creators Update now support both NVIDIA and AMD drivers.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that “GTA 5” is being is being used as a simulation to test the AI of driverless cars. The game seems to provide the best simulation at the moment. The game consists of 14 weather conditions, 262 vehicles, innumerable bridges, tunnels and traffic signals and more than thousand unpredictable NPCs roaming about, writes Bloomberg. The game is now considered having the richest virtual environment, Alain Kornhauser, Princeton University professor of operations research and financial engineering believes.

Moreover, head of self-driving car start-up Nio, Davide Bacchet, said, “Just relying on data from the roads is not practical. With simulation, you can run the same scenario over and over again for infinite times, and then test it again.” Engineers of self-driving cars need to test their vehicles under the most-extreme of conditions. “Grand Theft Auto 5” provides the best platform to do so. While training the artificial intelligence (AI) of semi-sentient vehicles using a video game may seem surprising, it’s safer than testing them in the real world.

Using “GTA 5” to test these vehicles also provides engineers greater control over testing each variable. In order to run experiments successfully, simulation is very important, as it offers a more controlled environment.
