Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) has officially come back from the dead. While he has a huge mob to back him up, what is worse is that he has some sinister plans and happens to be after someone. While the winter finale might have come sooner than expected, viewers should brace themselves for what could be an iconic episode of “Gotham.”

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Gotham” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

For this episode, Jerome is expected to continue terrorising the city in “Gotham’s” winter finale. While a lot of fans are puzzled over why episode 14 would be called the winter finale even as the show just returned from a hiatus, it might be one that will be remembered for a long time. This is because if Jerome really turns out to be the Joker, he will rise to be Batman’s most iconic villain.

In the official promo, Jerome takes the spotlight and looks creepier than ever. As if a mob lord clown was not enough to freak out viewers, “Gotham” took one step further and turned that icon into a zombie of some sort. Those who were not afraid of Jerome before might start getting scared now.

While it is not yet known if Jerome would indeed turn out to be the Joker sooner or later, Monaghan does deserve a lot of credit for taking on an iconic role that Batman fans have been watching out for. His take on this character reveals the same crazy energy that was delivered by other actors who played the Joker before. The actor has a unique sense of darkness that stands out enough to make things exciting.

The official synopsis reveals that while Jerome is, indeed, on the loose, he has one target in mind: Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). This will mean that Alfred’s (Sean Pertwee) safety will get compromised. In the meantime, Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) uncle Frank (James Remar) will visit him while Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Penguin (Robin Taylor) get pushed to confront their issues head-on. Knowing them, this could possibly lead to fatal repercussions.

The “Gotham” winter finale airs Jan. 30 on FOX in the US. It can also be seen in Australia on SyFy.
