Season 7 Episode 6 of “The Good Wife” was about lies. The biggest one, however, involved Peter (Chris Noth) in Alicia Florrick’s (Julianna Margulies) election scandal. The episode, titled, “Lies,” confirmed that Peter was actually guilty.

Peter lied, manipulated and cheated and would not allow his wife, Alicia, to operate and gain some recognition for herself. He was afraid that Alicia would lose the election and put his reputation on the line that he had to put matters in his own hands. Despite Alicia always being there for him throughout his career, he let Alicia take the hit when he was supposed to protect her.

In the meantime, Eli (Alan Cumming) is still considering his options. Alicia might want to join him or continue supporting Peter in his presidential campaign. In the previous episode, it was shown that Eli will stop at nothing until he destroys the couple. During the episode, Eli and Ruth (Margo Martindale) learn that they have to work together, considering how Peter has a real chance at the presidency. Eli cannot destroy Peter at present, because it will also entail ruining Alicia.

In the episode’s case, there were a few interactions that brought up a few things about Alicia, including whether she would really include the malpractice insurance on her homeowner’s policy, which would be a huge risk. Alicia and Lucca also argued that their client could not have been fired based only on a lie detector.

Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) found that there was actually no theft at the company, and no reason for the polygraph that their client went through. Meanwhile, Alicia also looked more into Jason’s past and talked to the judge whom the latter hit before.

There was also some conflict among Lee (Zach Grenier), Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Agos (Matt Czuchry). As for the firm, Monica was shown in one video to be quite a racist and sexist.

The episode also reintroduced Alicia with the NSA.

“The Good Wife” Season 7 Episode 7 will air on Nov. 15 on CBS.
