After Peter asked Alicia to stay with him for the duration of the trial and give the public the impression that their marriage is solid, Alicia did not put their divorce on hold. She finally had enough of their troubled marriage and announced publicly that she will continue with her plans to finally break it off with her estranged husband. All she wanted was to start anew with her new boyfriend Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The next episode will most likely feature Peter at his trial, writes TVGuide. with the public knowing that he and Alicia are actually not in good terms. The trial is set to start soon. There may be some complications, which will prompt Eli (Alan Cumming) to talk to Jason and ask him to get more details about Peter as the latter gets ready for the trial.

Based on the episode title, “Party,” Alicia will try to host a wedding party for her former mother-in-law, Jackie (Mary Beth Peil) and Howard (Jerry Adler). There will be trouble at the event soon, which Alicia may not be able to stop or contain. There will certainly be surprises and probably a shocking appearance by a character that will ruin the party.

"Alicia's night is going to go from bad to worse when she throws a party to celebrate Howard and Jackie's upcoming wedding. Also, Eli will end up asking Jason to investigate Peter in preparation for his trial,” stated the episode synopsis.

CarterMatt writes that as Alicia waits for her divorce, she may have to go through one more difficult obstacle with Peter before she is finally free.

Will Gardner (Josh Charles) is also expected to reprise his role in the series finale of “The Good Wife” on May 8, 2016. He will most likely appear in flashback, since the character was killed off in Season 5 Episode 15. Gardner continued to appear for a few episodes in the form of flashbacks after his death.

The next episode of “The Good Wife” will air on April 24 on CBS in the US and on Channel Ten in Australia.
