The Golden State Warriors (58-14) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (40-32) at the Oracle Arena on April 2. After a slow start to the month of March, the Warriors have gone on a six-game winning streak since last Tuesday's 106-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Grizzlies, one of the few teams that own a winning record against the 2016-17 Warriors, triumphed in the first two games of the regular season series on Dec. 10 and Jan. 6 before Golden State bounced back with a 122-107 away victory on Feb. 10. Marc Gasol's Grizzlies are also one of only three teams to win a game at the Oracle Arena this season, besides the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. The last time Memphis visited Oracle, the home team squandered a 24-point second half lead before the Grizzlies pulled off a 128-119 overtime win.

The Warriors has a taxing week ahead of it. After Sunday's home game against Memphis, Stephen Curry & co travel to Texas for back-to-back games against the Rockets (Tuesday) and Spurs (Wednesday) before returning home to host James Harden & co next Friday. With the playoffs less than a month away, Warriors coach Steve Kerr is viewing the next week as a very interesting juncture in his team's tile quest.

"I'm excited (about the next week); a lot of great teams coming up. The Grizzlies came in here and beat us last time they were in the building with that big comeback. Then on the road against the teams with the two best records in the West besides us. A big challenge," Kerr said ahead of Sunday's game, via ESPN.

The Grizzlies has always been a match-up nightmare for the fast-paced Warriors. There's a reason it's maintained a regular season winning record against Kerr's team. In recent games, it's upped the tempo by averaging 104.5 points per game in its last four wins against the Warriors, a different strategy as compared to a few years back when it stifled Golden State's shooters with tight perimeter defence.

Marc Gasol, a former Defensive Player of the Year, knows that his team needs to assert their presence in the paint to have a shot against the Warriors. "If we're going to do anything in the playoffs, it's going to be as a team on both ends of the floor. We have to be more consistent," Gasol, the All-Star centre, told reporters after Thursday's 97-90 loss in San Antonio.

The Warriors are just two games ahead of the San Antonio Spurs who are trying to make a late season push for the top seed. Though Kerr has stressed that his team is not playing for the top seed, Golden State would lose home advantage in a potential Western Conference finals showdown against the Spurs if they were to lose critical games over the next week or so.
