The Golden State Warriors (25-4) begin their three-game road trip with a clash against the Brooklyn Nets (7-20) at the Barclays Center on Thursday evening.

Both teams are known for their run-and-gun style of basketball; they are currently top-3 in the league in both possessions per game and three-point attempts.

However, despite their similar playing styles, the Warriors are a vastly superior team, averaging an impeccable 117.4 points from 100 possessions per game. The Nets, on the other hand, have the worst offensive rating in the league (104). Even though the Nets haven't had the offensive firepower of the Warriors, they average a league-high 101.7 possessions per game and are eighth in the league in points per game (106.6).

Golden State, on a five-game winning streak, have been blowing out oppositions on a nightly basis, often times resting their starters during the fourth quarters. On Tuesday, they hammered Utah Jazz 104-74 despite their inability to being held to just 24 assists for only the third team in the season. During their most recent winning streak, the Warriors have been averaging an incredible 114.2 points and 32.2 assists.

Golden State Warriors: Unstoppable offense

After the win over Utah, forward Draymond Green lamented over the rare lack of ball movement. "It was ugly. We just continued to take good shots and we continued to take care of the ball. Nothing crazy. We did a good job sticking to the script," said Green, an early candidate for Defensive Player of the Year, via ESPN.

Even though their offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders, the Warriors restricted the Jazz to a season-low 74 points and held a team under 90 points for only the fourth time this season. "The game plan wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary (on defence). (Just) challenge jump shots, keep the ball out of the paint and rebound. I thought we did a great job of that. It was really one of my favourite games of the year for us," said Steve Kerr, coach of the Warriors, who are allowing teams to score 103.9 points per game.

Meanwhile, Nets point guard Jeremy Lin returned to the starting unit Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors for the first time since his hamstring injury. He finished with 12 points from 25 minutes but the Nets were outscored by 15 points when the seventh-year guard was on the court.

"Just disappointed (at my performance). (I) felt like we didn't play as hard as we're supposed to, and that's never a good thing. We didn't do a good job of getting stops," the guard said after the 106-104 loss in Toronto.

After the Nets, the Warriors move onto Cleveland for the much-anticipated Christmas clash against the Cavaliers. The NBA finals rematch is being billed as the biggest regular season game of the year.
