The first trailer of the highly anticipated “Godzilla: King of Monsters” has been released online. The video introduces the “Titans” that once ruled the Earth and are now back to wipe out the human civilization.

The video [see below] starts with a terrifying hurricane that swallows all the buildings on its path, presumably caused by the monster Rodan. The return of these monsters has been explained as the planet’s defence mechanism to fight an infection, and that infection is the human civilization.

The 2014 movie has already established that the Earth was highly radioactive in the past. This was the time when monsters like Godzilla roamed the planet and battled against other giant creatures. That time has come again, and the battles are expected to level cities.

Movie buffs may already be familiar with some of these monsters from the previous “Godzilla” movies. However, the upcoming movie will have a slightly different take on the look of some of these creatures.

After the Atomic Breath scene of Godzilla, the fans get to see a nuclear Mothra, which was seen as a beautiful, multi-coloured butterfly-like creature in the previous movies. The new look of the monster shows it is fully blue, and glowing with radioactive energy.

The three-headed monster King Gidorah is also introduced in the trailer, but the fans only get to see the shadow of the creature. It remains to be seen if there will be other creatures that will be introduced in the movie.

Just like the 2014 movie, the upcoming film will be dark and gritty. The fight amongst the monsters should be exciting to watch in the dark because that would accentuate the light effects of the nuclear attacks.

“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is set to be released on May 31, 2019 in the US.
