Actress Sabrina Carpenter is not losing hope that “Girl Meets World” will still come back one way or another. She says there is always a chance for everything.

Viewers were shocked when Disney Channel cancelled the show earlier this year after a three-year run. In fact, some fans took to social media to express their disappointment and launched campaigns on streaming services to pick up the show.

In an interview with TVGroove, Carpenter was asked about the possibility of GMW coming back elsewhere. Carpenter played one of the lead characters in the show Maya Hart.

"There's a chance for everything. I think stranger things have happened. It's so funny when you say that. I'm happy when people are upset about it ending because if they weren't and were happy about it, that's a bad thing, so when they're upset that means we left something [people care about]. And I think that's a really cool thing. But we'll see what happens, I don't know," the actress says.

Earlier this year, Carpenter revealed in another interview that she wasn’t able to eat when she first found out about the cancellation. She then accepted the show’s fate later on and continued to keep in touch with the other cast members.

“Girl Meets World” is a sequel of sitcom “Boy Meets World,” which aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000. Original cast members Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence) and Ben Savage reprised their roles in the sequel which follows the life of their daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

When Disney Channel decided to cancel the series earlier this year, the network explained that the decision was made after careful deliberation of several factors. The network said it is proud that it had offered the viewers a generation of kids and families in more than 70 episodes as well as a heartfelt ending with some characters from the original show.

Series' creator Michael Jacobs admitted that they were disappointed that Disney pulled out the show since they signed up to do four seasons. After the show was cancelled, Jacobs has been campaigning for another network to bring back GMW. He believes that the whole cast will be interested joining in "Girl Meets World" season 4 in another network.

"I believe everyone will be on board. But I have to say, there are practicalities to this. When something is cancelled, that basically releases everyone to make their own decisions. But I think the experience of this particular show was such a good experience for this cast and this crew that — I can’t speak for everyone — but I think the inclination would be to stay together if we could," Jacobs told the Wrap.

GMW garnered an impressive 5.16 million viewers on its series premiere in 2014. However, its viewership ratings have dropped in season 3. Its last season's debut numbers shrunk to an average of 1.5 million viewers.

“Girl Meets World” also aired on Disney Channel in Australia.
