“Game of Thrones” Season 7 will mark the return of a long awaited character and another character whose future was uncertain after the events of the previous season. The two cast members were spotted in Belfast recently, where filming of the show will take place.

[Spoiler alert]

Gendry (Joe Dempsie) will finally return next year. The actor was spotted by a fan at the Belfast City airport, Watchers on the Wall reports. A picture of the actor posted on Twitter shows him wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Despite the actor’s efforts to arrive in the city incognito; the fans of the popular HBO TV series were able to recognise him.

The character was last seen in Season 3, in which he was almost burned alive by Melisandre (Carice van Houten). It was Davos (Liam Cunningham) who saved his life, and Gendry had to leave in a boat.

Although Gendry’s storyline appeared to be over, the fans believed that the character is too important to just vanish. The patience of the fans has now been rewarded with his return in “Game of Thrones” Season 7.

Gendry is the illegitimate son of Robert (Mark Addy). With the two Baratheon brothers dead, the character may be the last hope to keep the bloodline of the House alive. The character’s return also coincides with Arya’s (Maisie Williams) return to Westeros. The two characters are good friends.

Apart from Dempsie, the other actor spotted at the Belfast Airport was Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont). The character is afflicted with the dreaded Greyscale disease and the last time the viewers saw him he was ordered by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to find a cure and return to her side.

Jorah’s prospects looked slim, as there are very few people who have been able to stop the spread of Greyscale. Glen being spotted in Belfast now confirms that the character’s journey will continue in “Game of Thrones” Season 7.
