Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. HBO/Helen Sloan

Up to now, “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has been merciful on the character Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, as it allowed her to escape the evil clutches of her tormentor husband Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon). However, a new theory suggests that her freedom may be seriously challenged and short-lived.

[Spoiler Alert] Sansa Stark may be pregnant and fans have found important clues in Season 6 photos shared previously and also from the latest episode 5, “The Door,” that shockingly killed off the sweet character Hodor (Kristian Nairn). Hodor died protecting Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Meera (Ellie Kendrick) from the White Walkers.

However, while everybody was talking about the Hodor scene, a conversation between Sansa Stark and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) at the very beginning of the episode provided clues that Sansa may be carrying Ramsay’s child. She verbally attacked Littlefinger asking him whether he knew about the monstrous Ramsay. Next, she forced him to contemplate what all things Ramsay did to her.

“I can still feel it. I don’t mean ‘in my tender heart it still pains me so’ — I can still feel what he did in my body standing here right now,” Sansa told Littlefinger.

Fans believe this is more than just emotional and physical pain she is referring to. They feel Sansa is pointing to a baby inside her stomach. She revealed that Ramsay tortured her in every way possible but kept one part unharmed that will bear him a child.

In another conversation, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) said Sansa was wearing a new dress perhaps to accommodate for her child. Some fans have also pointed out the fact that Sansa has lost her appetite in Castle Black.

Before Season 6 premiered, there was massive speculation about Sansa being pregnant after the controversial rape scene. Two photos were released that showed Sansa standing in the snow. Her dress seemingly had a tiny belly bump that made fans wonder if she was pregnant with Ramsay’s child.

If the Stark daughter is pregnant, that would mean a whole lot of things as far as the storyline is concerned. Sansa is perhaps the only Stark family member who has endured the maximum emotional and physical torture, first in the hands of Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) and then Ramsay’s. She was a mere pawn in the hands of powerful men. Even though she has found some ground underneath her feet, Ramsay’s child may knock her down again. Ramsay would definitely try and recapture Sansa when he learns she is carrying his child.

However, Sansa may also use her pregnancy to her advantage by manipulating Ramsay. If Jon can defeat Ramsay, Sansa’s child will prove to be instrumental in reuniting the North.
