Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. HBO/Helen Sloan

Many “Game of Thrones” fans were intrigued by the adorable but ferocious Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) of Bear Island. Here are some more details about the young girl who dealt with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) as if they were the same age in Season 6 Episode 7.

Lyanna debuted in the episode titled “The Broken Man,” where Jon and Sansa pleaded with her house to help them battle the Boltons and give back control of Winterfell to House Stark.

Entertainment Weekly reveals that Lyanna is named after Lyanna Stark and is the niece of Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, who subsequently gave authority over the men to Jon Snow before he died in Season 3. Lyanna is also the cousin of Ser Jorah Mormont, the loyal confidante of Daenerys Targaryen, who is now afflicted with the Greyscale disease.

Executive producer Bryan Cogman shared how impressed he was with Ramsey during her scene with the adults when she accommodated them in her modest house. The rest of the cast were reportedly kept on their toes by how well Ramsey played her part.

TIME notes that during the scene, Lady Mormont suddenly cut off all of Jon and Sansa’s attempts to sweeten the conversation and immediately doubted their roots. It was only when Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) spoke that she was convinced to help the Starks battle the Boltons, and later, the Whitewalkers. She finally declared that House Mormont has been in good terms with House Stark for a thousand years and would not break faith on that day.

Overall, Ramsey’s performance made her an instant favorite among “Game of Thrones” fans. Many immediately posted how much they appreciated the young actress on social media.

On the other hand, Cogman mentioned that Jon and Sansa’s tour of the Northern houses was an opportunity to show viewers how the former allies of the Starks have fared since the death of Rob Stark (Richard Madden). It was a huge revelation to the siblings that the northern families have suffered much too, since their father’s demise.

More updates and details on Lady Lyanna Mormont and her pledge of 62 brave warriors are expected soon. “Game of Thrones” season 6 airs Sundays on HBO. It also airs on Foxtel in Australia.
