Tom Wlaschiha reprises his role as Jaqen H’ghar in “Game of Thrones” Season 5, and his return surprised some of the fans of the series. The actor spoke about his return and also about the character Arya Stark in a recent interview. [Spoiler Alert!]

According to the official synopsis of episode 3 titled “High Sparrow,” Arya Stark is set discover more details about the nature of the work done by the House Black and White while serving the Many-Faced God. In an interview with HBO posted on the official MakingGameofThrones website, Tom Wlaschiha spoke about Arya Stark and her possible future.

“It seems like there's some bigger plan behind it,” Tom Wlaschiha said while answering a question about Jaqen H’ghar seeing the potential of Arya Stark at Harrenhal in “Game of Thrones” Season 2. The actor pointed out that with the abilities of Jaqen he shouldn’t have been a prisoner. “We still don't know what his secret agenda is – or if there is a secret agenda,” he said.

The actor said that the reason why Jaqen H’ghar initially turned Arya Stark away was to “test her” and see if she was serious about becoming a Faceless-Man. He said that his favourite scene in “Game of Thrones” Season 5 episode 2 was when Arya Stark spent the entire night outside the doors of the House of Black and White and repeated the names of the people she wanted to kill.

Talking about the way in which Jaqen H’ghar teaches Arya Stark in “Game of Thrones” Season 5, Tom Wlaschiha said that his character wants to teach her, but he will not make it easy for her. “He never tells her exactly what he wants from her; he gives her hints. He wants her to think for herself and to find her own path,” the actor added.

The one character that Tom Wlaschiha would like to see on the Iron Throne is Arya Stark for “selfish reasons,” the actor said. He also said that he would choose the direwolf as a pet over a dragon and Ser Pounce the cat. The Stark children were each given a direwold as a pet, dragons are associated with House Targaryen and Ser pounce is the pet of King Tommen Baratheon, the son of Cersei Lannister.

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 episode 3 is set to feature another wedding. Margaery will be marrying King Tommen. When asked if he would go to a wedding in the TV series, Tom Wlaschiha said that he would and explained that if anything happens at that wedding it would probably be “Jaqen's fault.”
