Game of Thrones "Blackwater" (Season 2 Episode 9) is arguably the best GOT episode that HBO has ever dished out to its avid viewers. If the finale would fall short in delivering heart-stopping scenes and mind blowing violence, the fans already has Blackwater as grand prize for sticking to the show for two seasons.

Blackwater was short in sex, short in wolves, but richly abundant in action-packed scenes, all served in epic proportions. Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister was the heart of the pre-finale episode, as he has been the main man throughout the second season.

It was good to have the rather serene moment between Tyrion and Shae. For a fan, it was the only time to breathe calmly in the episode. However, the scene itself does not bode well for what was to come.

The battle was told from Tyrion's POV last season, but he missed the action. It did not matter; he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe, anyway. He was that good. After seeing Blackwater, the man showed even better acting chops. Take Lannister's speech, for instance: There was nothing spectacular and moving in his words, but the way he said it made all the difference. Nobody else could have punctuated it better with such compelling force.

Peter's brilliant portrayal as the most endearing badass Lannister in Game of Thrones has gained for him two major awards: Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011 and the 2012 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Series, Miniseries or Television Film.
