Google has released an ungraded YouTube app for iOS devices that takes a lot of the pain out of editing video on mobile devices while offering a load of cool, new editing features. The free app is available for download on the iTunes App Store.

Version 10.38 of the YouTube app comes with a redesigned interface and new video editing tools. These in-app features enable users to polish their videos before they upload them onto YouTube. The upgrade also has a music feature so users can add soundtracks from their devices or from YouTube, said AdWeek.

The new YouTube app’s video editing tools permit users to trim their videos; add music or play around with filters such as Sepia and 8mm, among others. There’s also a neat Sketch option that transforms a video into a pencil sketch.

As for music, users can select a song from YouTube’s library. They can listen to their selected songs before adding them to their videos.

Some analysts commented the upgrade makes the iOS version look more like its Android counterpart, according to Engadget. The new app also shows three main page tabs on top: Home, Subscriptions and Account.

The new app also allows users to better find content. A swipe or tapping an icon gives one access to recommended videos or favorite channels.
