The producers of the Robert Pattinson’s latest film opposite Reese Witherspoon, ‘Water for Elephants’ have vehemently denied any abuse claims as seen in the video released recently by an animal rights group proving that the film star, ‘Tai’ has been abused during training.

The animal activists even went on urging movie-goers to boycott the film as a way to support advocacy against animal cruelty and inhumane treatment.

Addressing the shocking video of the animal’s training techniques, the top officials of the 20th Century Fox assured the public in the statement that R-Patz huge co-star, ‘Tai’ was never maltreated in any way described in the clip.

“Fox and the filmmakers are disturbed and saddened by the video being circulated that purportedly shows Tai being mistreated,” the officials from the ‘Elephants’ studio said in a statement posted on its official page on Facebook

The statement added: “We are strongly opposed to violence against animals and were not aware of any mistreatment of the animals in this movie. We have learned that the video was taken in 2005, long before the movie was in production”.

It also said: "Fox is compelled to point out that this video was not taken during the training for, or production of, our film, and neither Tai nor any other animal performer in the film was harmed in any way during the making of this film."
