A 32-year-old Chinese man, Zhou Hui, suffered the fate that befell John Wayne Bobbitt when his lover cut his penis using a scissor in December 2012 and killed him with a hammer.

Forty-one-year-old Yeung Ki admitted the crime in a Hong Kong court on Wednesday, but defended her act that it was in response to Mr Zhou forcing her to have sex with him and beating her and her four-year-old daughter after she refused to give him HK$28,000 to buy a car.

He had also allegedly threatened to post her nude photos on the Internet.

After Mr Zhou raped her, Ms Yeung gave him a soup laced with sleeping pills. When he was asleep, she hit him repeatedly with a hammer, cut his genital and flushed it down the toilet, prosecutor Nicholas Adams told the court.

To compound his sins against Ms Yeung, Mr Zhou - a married resident and a piano teacher from mainland China - borrowed HK$19,000 from her which he never repaid back, made her pregnant and returned to Shenzhen. He visited her several times in Hong Kong, according to The South China Morning Post.

The trial is still ongoing.

Mr Bobbitt was the first sensational penis-chopping victim who eventually capitalised on his headline story by becoming a porn star after his severed genital was reattached.
