Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has been linked with a second sabbatical from his football managerial career once his contract at German club expires at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Guardiola has not signed an extension to his contract with Bayern despite the German club’s attempts to get him to sign one over the past year, and he has also been linked with a move to multiple clubs in the Premier League, including Chelsea, Manchester City, and even Arsenal.

However, Sky Sports, are claiming that the former Barcelona manager could take a year’s break from management, as he did in 2012-13. That would raise suspicions of a possible move to Arsenal or Manchester United, with Louis van Gaal’s contract at United expiring in 2017 and Arsene Wenger also recently indicating he may not extend his current contract, which also expires at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, who has struggled to cement his place in the first XI ever since his arrival from in 2013.

The Spaniard has had to compete for minutes with the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez in the middle of the pitch, and has drifted in and out of the team often. He has made 14 appearances so far this season but struggled to make an impact due to lack of meaningful minutes.

Isco has now quested club president Florentino Perez to let him leave in the upcoming transfer window, according to the Daily Express. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for the player, with Real still expected to ask around £35 million (AU $75.26 million) for the out of form player.
