Mexican champion Canelo Alvarez insists that his focus is solely on his next fight, a marquee match-up against Puerto Rico’s veteran pugilist in Miguel Cotto on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas.

However, when asked about the possibility of fighting the other top contenders in the sport, Alvarez did not hold back in saying that he is not afraid of any fighter, particularly Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan.

"I am not afraid of any fighter, but right now I am focused on Cotto. Once this fight is over we can move on to the next big fight,” Alvarez said during the boxer’s San Diego Media Workout via philboxing.com.

"I want to fight the big fights and am not afraid to take risks. I believe my fighting style and opponents over the years have shown that. I am here to prove I am the best and the best way to do that is fighting the best."

Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 knockouts) has been criticised by some quarters after declaring that he won’t fight Golovkin at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds but would rather face him with a catchweight stipulation. Alvarez will be facing Cotto (40-4-0, 33 knockouts) at a catchweight of 155 pounds.

In a separate interview via FightHype, Alvarez said that he’s ready for anyone, including Golovkin, stating that the loss to Floyd Mayweather, who is responsible for Alvarez’s sole defeat in his career, made him a better and complete fighter.

The Cotto vs. Alvarez fight will be for the World Boxing Council (WBC) and Ring Magazine middleweight titles and will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States.
