Season 2 of “The Flash” ended in quite a strange manner, as Barry Allen pulls out his best hand to prevent his mom from being murdered by the Reverse Flash. This, however, resulted to a timeline that is completely different from where he always had been. With the Flashpoint Paradox now activated, what challenges and adventures now await Barry?

Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Flash” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

Matt Letscher, who plays the Reverse Flash in the series, gives some insights into what awaits Barry for the next season, as shown in an interview by Comicbook Resources.

There, Letscher reveals that Reverse Flash is about to be a series regular in “Legends of Tomorrow” and that such new role can have new implications on season 3 of “The Flash.” He adds that the Flashpoint Paradox, as is to be featured on the series, is a little less complicated than how it appeared on the comics. What is guaranteed, however, is that it will cause Barry pain which will be largely caused by the Reverse Flash. Barry messing with the timeline was never meant to lead to good things anyway.

While his character is about to wreak havoc on Barry Allen, the working relationship between the actors appear to be the exact opposite. Lescher says that he absolutely loves Grant Gustin and praises him for the heavy workload, which he handles gracefully.

While the Reverse Flash already appears to be quite a headache for Barry, it appears that things are about to get even worse. The speedster is headed for even more trouble on Season 3.

Grant Gustin himself reveals in a post on iDigital Times that viewers should expect more speedsters in the next season and that a villain that is not metahuman might debut.

Andrew Kreinsberg, director of the show, previously confirmed that the third season will take viewers deeper in to the life of Caitlin Snow. That however was before Barry decided to trigger the Flashpoint Paradox and mess terribly with the timeline. How this Flashpoint Paradox will affect the entire DC extended universe is yet to be seen, considering that the show is getting rooted deeper into the timelines of other shows which include “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

“The Flash” returns to The CW on October 4, 2016. It also airs on Fox in Australia.
