Season 2 of “The Flash” ended with Barry Allen doing something he vowed never to do; travel back in time to stop his mother’s death. This ending points out to one of the richest stories of the DC character: The Flashpoint Paradox.

Such richness, however, as displayed in the comic books and in the animated movie, is not fitting for a blow-by-blow remake on the small screen. The cast and crew will make some adjustments to make the experience more immersive on TV while, unfortunately, having to forego following the original source to the nail.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Flash” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next season airs.

An exhaustive report on Screenrant reveals how big the expectations are for this upcoming season.

When Barry Allen decided to travel back in time to save his mother, he triggered an alternate universe that was not supposed to exist. This can lead to one of CW’s boldest moves regarding “The Flash.”

The same post reveals that Gra nt Gustin had already familiaris ed himself with The Flashpoint Paradox upon his casting. He finds the alternate universe fascinating since the DC superheroes would not appear as they are popularly known. Basically, everything changes in The Flashpoint Paradox except for the Flash himself.

Producers Aaron and Todd Hebling are no less excited to bring the twisted alternate universe to the small screen. They report edly said that they had loved comic books as kids, and that such has inspired them to replicate their personal experiences to viewers of the TV show. They add that because they had different experiences every time they read the comic book, they cannot give a verbatim reproduction of the comic book in the show’s storyline.

A report by TV Line would agree that it is best for the show not to be too faithful to its original source. This is considering that the storyline of “The Flash” has already been so intertwined with other series of the CW which include “Supergirl ,” “Arrow ,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

The third season of “The Flash” premieres Tuesday, October 4 on The CW. It also airs on Fox8 in Australia.
