FNAF World RPG

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” developer Scott Cawthon got fans talking when he announced that the next game in the series will be a Roleplaying Game (RPG), though he didn’t announce a release date. Now however, Cawthon has updated the site with an image of the new game called “FNAF World,” where it also states that the game will be coming in 2016.

The image itself is an unusual one, seeing all of the previous game’s horrific animatronics greeting the player with a bright and colorful background. It will be interesting to see if any of the characters here are the lead protagonists or are simply teammates to recruit in the game’s party. No official gameplay details have been revealed yet.

One interesting thing that Pocket Gamer points out is the release date. Developer Scott Cawthon is notorious for never following the release dates he gives fans, as they usually come out months earlier than expected. This is usually because the games were so similar to each other and only required a few changes to the animatronics and story to feel new.

In the developer’s defense, “FNAF World” isn’t just another “Five Nights at Freddy’s” game. The title will be an RPG, so it may actually take longer to develop than the previous games in the series. The developer even put “seriously” in the image, aware that he has become infamous for the changes in release dates that he has given.

While fans wait for a seemingly lighter version of their favorite horror game, they do have the Halloween update of “Five Nights at Freddy’s 4” to keep them busy. The update adds a cheat menu, a challenge menu and a “new spin” on one of the game’s mini-games.

Cawthon also teased a new game announcement on Oct. 31, though its not clear if it was meant to be “FNAF World”. It looks like fans will have to wait till the end of next month to see what this announcement is.

Like the other games in the series, “FNAF World” will be coming to the PC, along with iOS and Android devices. It should be interesting to see the characters from the series outside of their usual horror setting, especially in the realms of an RPG.
