First Family's four-year-old dog, Sunny, has bitten a teenager visiting the White House on the face. The 18-year-old girl, a family friend, reportedly went to kiss Sunny, and the dog bit him.

TMZ was told that the incident happened on Jan. 9 when the teenager was visiting the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The girl was attended by Obamas' family physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, and declared that she needed stitches.

Sunny is a female Portuguese Water Dog, a rare breed that is not usually aggressive. But Sunny tends to act out of character and has a history of misbehaviour. In 2013, she jumped on a two-year-old girl at a Christmas function at The White House.

Even President Obama himself has opened up to People magazine about the dog’s unruly behaviour. The outgoing president said there have been times when Sunny pooped at the area near the Lincoln Bedroom and his office.

Obama further shared that Sunny knows that she is doing something wrong because she will run. “Sometimes I’ll be in my office, and I’m doing my work and I’ll see this scurrying — and I have to get up and run before she does her thing, because if I’m too late then there’s a little gift that she leaves,” he shared. Regardless, Obama maintained that Sunny is a wonderful dog.

Aside from Sunny, the Obamas have another dog named Bo, also a Portuguese Water Dog. Bo is four years older than Sunny and has earned the title of First Dog during President Obama’s two terms as president of the United States.

The Obamas opted for Portuguese Water Dogs because their eldest daughter, Malia, has allergies and she needed a breed that is hypo-allergenic. As part of the First Family, both Sunny and Bo will leave the White House after US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.
