Black Friday may have been over a week ago, but techies who failed to get a good bargain during those days need not wait for Boxing Day to enjoy price cuts on devices.

On Monday, Dec 9, Microsoft will offer the Dell Venue 8 Pro table for $99. The rock-bottom price cut, from the original tag price of $299.99, is good only in Microsoft bricks-and-mortar stores.

And the offer is for the first 20 Venue 8 Pro tablets only in each location. The 21st unit will be priced at $199, but it is only as good as stocks last which could be as little as 10 units per store. Microsoft has about 40 bricks-and-mortar stores.

The $99 offer is also good for online orders, and limited to the first 100 units, after which the 101st sales would be billed $199.

ZDNet, which previously compared the Dell Venue Pro 8 with the Google Nexus 7 and Kindly HDX, both 7-inch devices, found the Dell Device the better option because the one-inch difference made it easier to read emails, books or news, while still comfortable in the hand.

Venue 8 has a front panel made of glass and a black bezel that has the embedded 1.2MP camera, while its back uses black ribbed plastic for materials. The device features a 5 MP camera at the back, located on top of Dell's logo.

The tablet weighs below 400 grammes and is powered by the Bay Trail Atom CPU Z3740D. It comes in 32GB and 64 GB versions and runs on Windows 8.1.
