As the media outfits face restrictions to camp out outside Lindon Wing of London’s St. Mary Hospital to await the arrival of the second royal baby, many thought the lack of coverage means there is not much interest on the second baby. According to the media correspondents and analysts however, this is not the case. In particular, everyone is excited to know if the second baby is a girl.

According to professor Richard Sambrooke, even if the new baby is not in the direct line of the throne, the world is still very much interested, especially from those outside in the UK. He explained to the Hollywood Reporter that William and Kate can be considered “global uber-celebrities” now, akin to Princess Diana three decades ago.

News orrespondents also told Hollywood Reporter that if Kate Middleton would delivery a girl this time, people would be more excited. Rhiannon Mills of Sky News said a girl would “add a different dynamic.”

Regardless of the gender however, it is wrong to assume that even with restrictions, news outlets would not be able to provide a comprehensive coverage of the said event. Representatives BBC News, ITV News, Sky News, among others also released statements assuring the viewers that they will be given the “appropriate level of coverage” when the Duchess of Cambridge gives birth. Reactions outside the Buckingham Palace and the differences between this birth and Prince George’s would even be covered. Nations such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Mexico, Japan, India, and Russia have all their own unique coverage plans.

For her part, Princess Kate Middleton is just excited to deliver her baby. US magazine reported her to be in good spirits as she herself, awaits the time the little one would decide to make an appearance for the world. The rest of the family is also in good spirits and very eager for the baby to be born. Because the baby is taking some sweet time to get out of Kate’s body, the Duke and Duchess had some time last week to go about their usual activities. Kate was seen doing some shopping and an onlooker said she was cheerful and kind, as always.
