The turning point in Canadian tennis star and current World No. 7 Eugenie Bouchard's career came in a breakthrough performance in the 2014 season. She has reached two semifinals of Grand Slam tournaments, before claiming a spot in the finals at Wimbledon in July. For Bouchard, her amazingly great season and success in court that brought her name to stardom shouldn't really be a surprise. Bouchard, who took the tennis world by storm, recently reflected on her breakthrough year and said she came prepared for her tennis career.

"I knew what I was signing for," Bouchard told the journalists during a conference call on November 19 via The Canadian Press. She said that she is comfortable with fame; otherwise, she would have chosen a different career path. She even joked about shifting her career to a librarian if she didn't like all the attention being thrown at her right now.

According to Bouchard, it didn't take a long time for her to grasp the fact that her life will be changed when she stormed up the world rankings. She said that she only needed two days to get accustomed to her celebrity stardom.

Bouchard's Grand Slam success has certainly increased her celebrity status. She is now being widely sought by people. Bouchard said that people are now coming up to her, talking to her, and asking for her picture and autographs. In addition, she revealed that she also get many off-court requests.

Now that she is household name, Bouchard said she needs to work on killer management skills. She was delighted to reveal that she had done a pretty good job managing her time.

Bouchard has played some of the biggest names in the sporting world of tennis, such as Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. She prided herself for being able to stay focus during those tough matches against the world's top players.

As for her upcoming 2015 season, Bouchard said that she will cut down the tournaments that she will be joining to avoid injuries. She is currently training and expected to play one tournament before the 2015 Australian Open. Bouchard said she will learn from the experiences she had in the past season to achieve more in 2015.

Bouchard has recently added recognition to her accolades. She has been named as WTA's Most Improved Player of 2014. She received 45 of 58 media votes and 49% of fans votes. She is currently the youngest player in the top 25 of WTA World Rankings.

Bouchard ended her season ranked seventh in the world, but she rose to as high as World No. 5 in the rankings. She has won her first WTA Tour title in Nurnberg in May.
