Ethan Hawke believes Jennifer Lawrence's career peaked way too early. As such, the "Hunger Games" star's Oscar Award would only work against her. He does not think Jennifer Lawrence landing on top of Forbes' list of bankable stars of 2014 is something to rejoice about.

For Ethan Hawke, early success can become a negative factor on a person's work ethic and motivation. "I feel sorry for a young actress like Jennifer Lawrence who gets so much success out of the gate, because how are you supposed to develop an appropriate work ethic? How do you push yourself to be better when you get an Oscar for buying breakfast in the morning?" Ethan shared to The Daily Beast.

The actor cited Tennessee Williams and her work called "The Catastrophe of Success" for his views. According to the essay, failure and success can turn out to be both negative experiences for people. However, failure can fuel a person to be better while success might ultimately just drown a person. Ethan Hawke however, is not singling out Jennifer Lawrence. He said it's the way Hollywood "runs as a whole" that is the problem. He said Hollywood has a culture that "decides when" something is "brilliant," even though it may not be.

Before 2014 ends, Jennifer Lawrence was hailed Forbes' Highest Grossing Actor. She had a global box office amounting to $1.4 billion. Her movies "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," raked her the dollars for her to be given the prestigious title. The first installment of the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" movie earned $333 million in the U.S. alone. On the other hand, the X-Men Sequel, earned $233 million.

The 24-year-old actress already has an Oscar under her belt too for her recognized stellar performance for "Silver Linings Playbook." She also received nominations for her other movies. Despite the issues she faced last year, splitting up with boyfriend Nicholas Hoult and being linked to Gwyneth Paltrow's ex Chris Martin and then having some of the nude pictures on her phone leaked online, Jennifer Lawrence managed to forge ahead of all other Hollywood actors and actresses.
