'Empire' season 2 episode 14 spoilers: Lucious attempts to become CEO again even at his son’s expense in ‘Time Shall Unfold’

In Season 2 Episode 14 of “Empire,” Lucious (Terrence Howard) will do anything to get his position back as CEO of Empire, even at the expense of his son, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray).

“Lucious releases his new music video, as he manipulates and sabotages those around him to regain his CEO position at Empire. Meanwhile, Andre learns more about his grandmother’s mental illness in order to understand his own struggle with bipolar disorder, Anika reveals a big secret to the family and Hakeem leads the big shareholder meeting,” stated the episode synopsis.

Carter Matt writes that Lucious Lyon has his sights on the top position, which means taking down his son, Hakeem. He will stop at nothing until he attains his objective. He is expected to make more threats, exploit his family and may even resort to more desperate measures to regain his position at the top.

In the next episode, titled “Time Will Unfold,” Lucious will challenge Hakeem at an important shareholders meeting. The promo video showed Hakeem addressing the audience as company CEO, but will be interrupted by Lucious, who starts asking him hard questions and doubting his ability to run Empire. Lucious will also bring the spotlight to himself by releasing his new music video.

The episode will also feature Anika revealing the shocking news that she is pregnant with Hakeem’s child. The problem is Hakeem is currently engaged to his girlfriend Laura. Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) will bring Anika to the family to let her share the news to everyone. Hakeem will be surprised at the big revelation, while Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will refer to Anika as too “thirsty.”

There will also be more family drama between Andre (Trai Byers) and Lucious due to his mental illness.

More focus will be placed on Freda Gatz (Bre-Z) as well. Cookie discovered that Freda is the daughter of Frank Gathers (Chris Rock), whom she deems a future problem for the family. Previously, she and Lucioushad Frank killed in jail and Freda will most likely try to exact revenge against one of the Lyon boys when she finds out the truth.

“Empire” will air next on April 20 on FOX in the US and on Foxtel in Australia.
