The 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are getting underway at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and many stars have displayed their gorgeous dressing sense at the red carpet. But there have been a few who have already been trending for being the worst dressed of all.

Lena Dunham tops the list by being the worst dressed star of the night. It would not be wrong if we call her the flower girl of the event as the "Girls" star chose to wear a turquoise coloured gown with rose flowers on it! No doubt the gown was a Prada but it was so ill fitting and improper for the occasion that rather than making her stand out of the crowd, it gave her the look of a bouquet. Her loud make-up made her look even worse. She wore green - eye shadow to match it. Twitter and Tumblr went crazy with hate comments.

"I'm sorry, but Lena Dunham at the Emmys looked like a chode in a coconut head wig that rolled around in green, metallic paint," said one tumblr user versacemom.

Second on the list is Connie Britton. "Nashville" star showed up on the red carpet for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards show wearing an aqua dress from the Fall 2013 Naeem Khan collection, strapless and embroidered with gold detail. The former "American Horror Story" starlet has been nominated for an Emmy in the outstanding lead actress category. Tumblr user did not have great comments for the dress and called it the "horrific." "Jeez, the Emmy fashion is horrific this year," said cecilyjeanne on Tumblr.

Next comes Claire Danes who showed too much of a cleavage in Armani Prive dress at Emmys 2013. The star looked dab and dull in her gown. Danes won her second consecutive best actress in a drama series Emmy for "Homeland" on Sunday night. Paula Abdul wore a satin gown which covered everything for her. The choice of colour and her make up did nothing to make her look red-carpert worthy.

"Paula Abdul's outfit tonight is proof of why no one cares about her anymore," writes on Twitter user Maggie Gorman.

January Jones too follows Claire Danes when it comes to the choice of colours. Jones gown was a Givenchy but it gave her a very dull look.

"Bones" actress Emily Deschanel wore a sliver grey off shoulder gown which made the actress looked like she is at least 50 years old. However the 36-year-old chose to keep her makeup and accessories minimal which saved her day. Check out the PHOTOS above.
