Eddie Redmayne recently revealed that he once lived with Jamie Dornan while both were still trying it out in the movie industry. He also admitted he hasn’t seen Dornan’s “Fifty Shades of Grey” since he finds it “weird” knowing it’s his friend portraying explicit scenes in the movie.

Eddie Redmayne told Access Hollywood before the Oscar Awards ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 22, that he used to be roommates with Jamie Dornan. The actor, who was given the Best Actor Award that night for portraying physicist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything,” said he and Dornan would go to Los Angeles together and camped out. “We'd go and we'd sort of rent somewhere or stay on friends' floors and go to auditions and fail to get parts," he revealed.

Redmayne likewise said he considers Jamie Dornan as one of his “best mates,” yet admitted that he still has to watch Dornan’s sexy film “Fifty Shades of Grey.” "I haven't seen the film yet because I've been shooting a film in London, but of course we've spoken about it," he added. However, the 33-year old British actor thought that it must have been “quite an extraordinary experience” for Dornan to star in the erotic film.

Eddie Redmayne, who also proved his singing prowess in 2012’s “Les Misérables,” likewise admitted that he’s unsure if his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, would also want to watch “Fifty Shades of Grey.” The actor said he’d have to ask her first, although added that he finds it “a bit weird” to watch the film knowing it's his friend Jamie Dornan as the main star.

Apparently, Eddie Redmayne is not the only person who thinks it is weird watching Jamie Dornan, or someone close to him, star in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Dakota Johnson, who plays as Anastacia Steel in the film, brought her mother Melanie Griffith to the Oscars. According to Time, both mother and daughter were caught in an awkward moment on the red carpet when asked about the film. Griffith was asked whether she has seen “Fifty Shades of Grey,” to which she replied she thinks she can’t watch it since “it would be strange.”
