More United Arab Emirates boys will probably want to be a cop when they become adults, if only for the perks of having a Bugati Veyrons or Lamborghini Aventadors as their service vehicle. Soon, the Google Glass could be another added attraction as the Dubai Police Department includes the high-tech glass in their equipment.

By using Google Glass, detectives in the Gulf would be able to identify faster criminals with the use of Google Glass's facial recognition technology that is tied to an online database using a software developed by Dubai police, reports Reuters. Google Glass has a small computer screen on the corner of the spectacle's frame which is capable of capturing images, recording video and playing sound.

The software would alert the wearer of the Google Glass when it recognizes a suspect based on a face print, said Col Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, director general of Dubai Police.

Initially, it would be traffic enforcers who would be issued the Google Glass, which costs $1,500 in the US, to cut traffic violations and monitor overspeeding vehicles - the reason behind the use of the expensive Bugati and Lamborghini cars. Then the device would also be issued to Dubai detectives to battle other types of crimes.
