A video, now getting more hits in sharing sites such as YouTube, is disturbing those who had viewed the images because of its disturbing cruelty to animals. The short video showed a mother kangaroo show twice by an arrow on the spine and leg.

The endemic animal to Australia had to undergo surgery to have the arrows removed and to recover. Unfortunately, while mum roo has survived her ordeal, it was not the case for her baby, a joey, which died.

The shooting incident happened at Endeavour Hills on the south eastern fringe of Melbourne's south. Wildlife Victoria said it received a report of the animal cruelty on Sunday morning from the public, but the group found the injured kangaroo only on Monday near the Baden Powell Reserve and rushed it to the hospital for treatment.

Apparently, the baby roo was still inside her pouch when the incident happened, but it was thrown out from the pouch and is still missing, but presumed dead.

Wildlife Victoria will turn over the two arrows to police for evidence in investigating the incident. This is not the first time that the animal protection group had experienced cruelty to roos. A similar incident took place at Narre Warren in November 2012 in which the roo survived the arrow hit only for one week, but eventually died.
