Xbox One owners who’ve ever wanted to visit “Jurassic Park” are in for some good news, as an announcement from Steam has confirmed that “ARK: Survival Evolved” is coming to the Microsoft console. Even better is the fact that Wild Card, the game’s studio, stated that the version’s release date is “imminent.”

The announcement probably comes as a big surprise, especially since it was made on Steam, a website mostly focused on computer games. That’s not to say PC gamers will be left behind, as the company also revealed that the title’s latest update will be released this week, and the developers have also provided information for the previously announced Alienware modding contest.

Since the game is still in the Early Access stage of Steam, it’s no surprise that “ARK” will come first to the Game Preview program for Xbox One. Since the title isn’t finished yet for computers, it makes sense to keep the title in the Game Preview stage for the console.

Though the game is not yet completely finished, it hasn’t stopped fans from purchasing the title. Through Steam alone, the game has already sold more than two million copies, which is more than impressive for a title that hasn’t been officially released yet.

However, an article from GameSpot noted that there was no announcement made on whether the various updates for “ARK” will be coming to the Xbox One version. Despite selling very well, the survival game has had numerous bugs and glitches, which is why it has received several updates already.

This is also why the title has remained in Early Access, since critics would hound the game for having so many bugs and glitches. It can be recalled that another developer, Ubisoft, rushed the release of “Assassin’s Creed Unity” and received backlash for it, which also resulted in numerous updates that attempted to fix the game.

“ARK: Survival Evolved” was originally going to be available for Xbox One this winter, but no update has been posted since. Now that the game’s release date is said to be imminent, fans can play the classic theme song of “Jurassic Park” in the background as they prepare for a dinosaur-filled adventure.
