After the success of “Jurassic World,” Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to return for “Jurassic World 2,” The Wrap reported. Universal Pictures reportedly confirmed the sequel and it has been scheduled for June 22, 2018 release.

Pratt played the main lead Owen Grady in the first film. He was shown as the Velociraptor expert and trainer. Meanwhile, Dallas Howard played Claire Dearing, the park’s operation manager. In the end of the film after the main antagonist Indominus Rex is dragged underwater, Grady and Dearing plan to stay together for survival.

It is not known in which direction will the story go in the sequel, however, according to Web speculation the relationship aspect of Pratt and Dearing can be established further.Meanwhile, the screenplay of the film will be written by the “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The foundation for the sequel was set up in the first film and Trevorrow hinted in his previous interview that the idea of using animals as weapons could be explored.

“There was a line where B.D. Wong says to Irrfan Khan, you know, how long do you think you’re gonna be able to control her? We won’t always be the only ones who can make a dinosaur. And that idea to me has a lot of potential in it that like nuclear power there could be a something that goes open source and there could be many entities who might have this ability to create these things and use them for various needs and purposes. So there’s potential in there,” he said to Slash Film.

The official title of the film has yet to be revealed. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg will produce the sequel. “Jurassic World” earned $1.522 billion at the worldwide box office and is the third highest-grossing movie in the history.
