"Destiny" The Taken King expansion brings a bevy of changes to Bungie's shooter game. Bungie

In just a few days, “Destiny” fans will get a chance to enjoy the new changes and features coming with The Taken King expansion. However, developer Bungie has announced some interesting new details pertaining to two anticipated things in the expansion, namely the Quests and the Strikes.

One of the more noticeable changes in the game include the revamped Quest System in “Destiny.” In an exclusive with GameSpot, Bungie’s Luke Smith, creative director for The Taken King, revealed that the changes were called for to benefit the players.

“The quest system; we overhauled the entirety of all the ‘Destiny’ content into this thing that we call Questification,” said Smith to GameSpot. “What we’re trying to do is give players clear context for what they’re doing and why; clear rewards for what they’re going to get at the end of it; and hope that gives them some thrust into the world.”

Instead of just letting Guardians explore on their own with no concrete goals to fulfill, “Destiny” The Taken King expansion will now feature a Quests section that will make it easier for Guardians to find what they should do after the campaign is over. This is complemented by a more user-friendly interface, which groups most of what Guardians need for easy access via button presses and pop-ups.

The new Quests page is a good example of this. According to the source, players can now submit bounties via the Quests page in the menu. Significantly, players who are always participating in quests and bounties will enjoy the new tracking via the HUD.

Bungie also expounded on what Guardians can do after the story campaign is over in “Destiny” The Taken King. In the Bungie blog update, Smith stated that endgame activities will encourage replayability due to both the variability in experience and the overall challenging feel of the activities.

Players who love to have their actions rewarded appropriately will also see Strikes as a good place to play. There are Strike-specific rewards, such as weapons and armour drops that only appear in Strikes.

“Destiny” The Taken King is set to change the way players can enjoy the game. It will be available for all platforms on Sept. 15. Fans can also watch out for the last Twitch livestream, scheduled on Sept. 2, for a glimpse of the Court of Oryx mode and more revelations on what’s up and what’s coming to “Destiny.”
