The first ever "Destiny" expansion "The Dark Below" is due for release on Tuesday, Dec. 9. However, ahead of the launch, some lucky gamers were able to sample the new weapons featured in the content. Moreover, the new strike, "The Undying Mind," supposedly shows a similarity to the Sekrion mission.

According to Inquisitr, Bungie was able to showcase "The Dark Below" expansion at the PlayStation Experience during the weekend. Some "Destiny" enthusiasts were even fortunate to sample "The Undying Mind" strike. From the video below from YouTube users DattoDoesDestiny and MoreConsole, it's supposedly clear to see the similarities of the new strike with that of the existing Sekrion mission. "The Undying Mind itself looks almost identical to Sekrion in the current Nexus strike on Venus," writer Scott Grill said.

Reportedly, the only difference is how the shield was created. Grill noticed three small gaps that make up "The Undying Mind's" shield, while that in Sekrion's only has one large shield.

Interestingly, Grill also pointed out that some common battle strategies were eliminated from the new strike. Gone were the options "to race past and ignore certain parts of the strike." Additionally, the "cheese spots" were also removed from "The Undying Mind." Instead, in "The Dark Below" content, "Destiny" players need to be in one particular spot on the map for an easier final boss battle.

As for the boss, Grill claims there's also a similarity between the new Vex Precursor with that of the existing Vex opponents. The only difference is the content's inclusion of different models and health levels.

Bungie has reportedly also made the No Land Beyond sniper rifle as the primary weapon for the strike. While it's all ready to be equipped, Product Reviews claims it doesn't really look like the weapon can "one-hit kill" an opponent.

"The Undying Mind" strike will be PlayStation exclusives until at least Fall 2015. PlayStation Blog details the strike as a cooperative mission set in the enthralling Black Garden. In order to fully defeat the timeless Vex machine beast, players as Guardians are given the option to utilise another "Destiny" PS exclusive content. "The Dark Below" expansion also offers another weapon, The 4th Horseman Exotic Shotgun. The 4th Horseman boasts "four barrels, five shots and a sizzingly fast fire rate," which calls for an effective choice of weapon on all fronts.
