Demi Lovato was tricked into touching baby bump of Duchess Kate Middleton by the stand-up comedian Jack Whitehall during the recently conducted Royal Variety Performance. The hilarious episode has been revealed by the comedian himself on 'The Jonathan Ross Show'.

The 26-year-old actor recalled the evening when the incident happened. Lovato was set to perform at the Royal Variety Performance and was very nervous to meet the Royals during the lineup. The singer even asked Whitehall about the protocol related to the Royal bump.

The comedian decided to pull a prank by saying that she should feel free to touch the Duchess' bump. "The Duchess of Cambridge I think would be offended if you didn't have a little feel," said the standup comedian jokingly, as told by ENews.

Lovato, however, took Whitehall's words to heart and was about to touch the Duchess bump when she was stopped just in time. They were standing in the lineup to greet the Royals when he felt that the pop singer had been seriously contemplating the idea of touching the Duchess' baby bump.

To avoid any awkward situation, Whitehall eventually stopped Lovato and told her it was just a joke. Touching the Duchess would have created havoc as her action would have invoked immediate security alert and might have resulted in an on the spot arrest of the singer.

The standup comedian has a knack for cracking jokes with the Royals. In his performance during the same evening, he quipped that he also had a crush on the Duchess as they attended the same college and he always referred to her as "the one that got away".

Prince Williams took the joke sportingly and in the lineup later that evening, he also joked back saying, "Oh, so you were flirting with my missus?" These and much more were recalled candidly by the standup comedian in the show. The event featured hoards of other performers, including singers and comedians who put up a great show for the crowd.
