For ex-lovers Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden, it is his words against her words. A Twitter war is about to ensue as former Westlife singer posted a number of attacks on his account against Delta's statements about their relationship.

Brian posted a string of tweets that appear to be an attack on his ex and her statements about their relationship in Vogue Australia.

On his first tweet, he wrote, "Sometimes silence is golden. People love to try and deflect attention from their own downfalls onto others."

It was followed by another tweet saying, "And for the record. I've seen it all before!!" It is assumed that this tweet refers to his ex-wife and mother of his two children Kerry Katona, who he once called a "pig-faced mole."

Brian also posted a praise to his current fiancée, Irish model and DJ Vogue Williams, "Randomly want to thank @VogueWilliams for making me the happiest man on the planet."

Brian said that he and Delta parted ways amicably and they remained friends after they have broken up. Apparently, that is not the case. Delta has not released a statement yet.

It is more than a year since the high profile seven-year relationship of Delta and Brian ended. For months, she was tight-lipped about the cause of her break-up with her fiancé. However, she revealed minute details about the break-up in the latest issue of Vogue Australia wherein she said that she was unhappy during course of their relationship.

"There is so much I'd like to say. I was really unhappy and I didn't know how to get out. I learned. I got there in the end. I feel like it's a totally different chapter; I feel like I'm back to being me again." said Goodrem.

Australia-born singer Delta Goodrem is "sitting on top of the world" with her new found success as judge of hit talent competition "The Voice."

Delta Goodrem once dominated the music industry with her debut album Innocent Eyes in 2003, which stayed 29th non-consecutive weeks in the ARIA hit chart.

At the young age of 15, Delta Goodrem shined the brightest when she topped the Australian chart with her debut album and named as the most promising young stars by Sony Music.

However, a health condition stopped short her music domination. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008 and derailed her from her career path and to conquer the US music charts. After winning the battle against cancer, she moved to Los Angeles, California and recorded her fourth album.

When her engagement with McFadden was called off, she found new love in the arms of Disney star Nick Jonas. The couple broke up earlier this year.
