“Deadpool 2” is already in the works. The movie will introduce new characters as the story continues. The creative choices from comic books include X-Force and Cable. Meanwhile, new high resolution pictures of the first film have surfaced online.

After delivering a great movie that performed well at the Box office, Tim Miller has exited the sequel. David Leitch is now onboard to helm the upcoming movie. The new director has some big shoes to fill, but after working on “John Wick” and a ton of other Hollywood blockbusters it is safe to say that the franchise is in good hands.

There are a number of choices in front of Leitch to choose from. Perhaps the most prominent choice is the Marvel comic series “X-Force,” the team of mutants that are an offshoot of the “X-Men.” The main difference between the two is that the former is more action oriented, which is a good thing when it comes to movie adaptation for “Deadpool 2.”

The first leader of X-Force team was a mutant called Cable, who is the son of Cyclops. In the comics the mutant was from the future. A report by Cinema Blend suggests that the sequel could mainly focus on Ryan Reynolds’ character and his relationship with Cable.

The post credits scene of Miller’s movie teased the introduction of Cable in the sequel. So, it will be an interesting contrast to have a big, powerful mutant paired with this foul mouthed mercenary.

Casting reports and announcements for the film are expected to start appearing early in 2017. The film was originally scheduled to begin production in January, but the unexpected exit of the director may have led to some delays in production plans.

“Deadpool 2” is set to be released on March 2, 2018 in the US. The release date for Australia is yet to be announced by the producers. Meanwhile, fans can look at the high resolution pictures of the first movie posted on Joe Lederer’s website.
