Brooklyn Beckham stood by her mother Victoria Beckham’s side whenever his father, David Beckham, has commitments away from their family.

A source told Closer that David has been spending so much time working apart wife Victoria, so their oldest son Brooklyn serves to provide moral support for the family. There had been reports that working apart has caused a strain in the marriage of David and Victoria.

“David has been travelling so much with work and Brooklyn knows how much his mum dislikes going to events alone, so is always the first to offer to join her,” the source said.

The source continued that Brooklyn has been “overprotective” of his mother especially that there were rumours about a struggle with his parent’s marriage. “[Victoria] can rely on him to support her when she’s feeling nervous or shy at events,” the source added.

Earlier in November, Brooklyn accompanied his mother Victoria during the celebration of Glamour’s 25th anniversary “Women of the Year” at the Carnegie Hall in New York. He also took the stage to present his mother the award for success in the fashion business and commitment as an International Goodwill Ambassador at the UNAIDS programme.

David, however, made his presence felt via video record. The soccer icon greeted Victoria congratulations for an “incredible achievement” just before their four kids appeared to congratulate her as well.

The father-of-four, who was at Buenos Aires at the time, also took to Instagram to express his love and support for wife Victoria. “Congratulations to the most amazing mother for the woman of the year award. Truly well deserved,” he captioned the photo of Victoria during the ceremony.

During her acceptance speech, Victoria credited her husband for her success, addressing that their 16-year-marriage has remained strong.

“Running a business, my work with UNAIDS and most importantly, being a mum, wouldn’t be possible without David. Not only is he the most incredible father, but he’s supportive and someone who loves and inspires me every single day,” she said.

Victoria, 41, and David, 40, have been married for 16 years. They are both parents to four children, namely, Brooklyn, 16; Romeo, 13; Cruz, 10; and Harper, 3.
