David Beckham said that his wife, Victoria Beckham, was the strict one in the house. He recounted how he was once scolded by her for treating their only daughter Harper to ice cream, after she had said no. The retired footballer was speaking to ABC News on Friday.

The proud husband also gushed about his wife for her “incredible” dedication to designing. “My wife, you know, she’s a hard worker,” he said. The 41-year-old fashion designer debuted her Spring Summer 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 14. Beckham and his eldest son, Brooklyn cheered on her from the front row.

Beckham, who signed a deal with Kent & Curwen to design his apparel collection, told that his marriage with his wife was “pretty easy.” The former England captain said that he and Victoria were together since the past 18 years and were married for 16 years. He added that for them trusting each other’s judgement has worked, US Weekly reported.

The 40-year-old said that he and Victoria have a complete control on what Brooklyn posts on his social media. The stylish teen has garnered around 4.4 million followers on Instagram and keeps them regularly updated about his life, but as per his famous dad, all his posts are approved by his parents before posting.

The father of four said that it is the same with all their kids including Romeo, 13, Cruz, 10 and Harper, 4. Beckham added that they try to protect their kids from public scrutiny, especially on social media.

The former Manchester United footballer said he knew he could not control whether his boys played the sport that launched his career. He added that he would love it if one of his boys played soccer. Beckham recounted that one of his sons told him some time back that he was not sure if he would like to play football all the time.

However, the retired footballer has not made it clear, as to which son told him about it, but nevertheless, he was heartbroken. Both Brooklyn and Romeo play for sides in the Arsenal academy.
