"Daredevil" Season 2 has hit the ground running by dropping the extended trailer featuring Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and Elodie Yung as Elektra.

Netflix’s "Daredevil" Season 2 trailer was released at the recently concluded New York Comic-Con. It reacquainted the viewers with how the titular character, Daredevil, started without the suit.

The first part of the trailer is standard as far as "Daredevil" goes. The title character is seen in a fight sequence, performing meticulously crafted stunts. His nemesis, Wilson Fisk, is livid and commands his men to do whatever is necessary to kill ‘The Man Without Fear’. He is seen saying that Hell’s Kitchen must die before it can be reborn.

The extended clip features the trio of Nelson and Murdoc Law Office, Matt (Charlie Cox), Foggy (Elden Henson) and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll), inside a church. Matt Murdoc asks Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie), “Why do I still feel guilty?” The priest can be seen saying that guilt could be a good thing and that his work is not yet finished, and simultaneously there is also the brief appearance of the two new characters, Elektra and The Punisher.

Elodie Yung’s Elektra can be seen making a brief appearance, wearing a ninja-like red cloth as mask. Elektra is one of those fan-favourite characters which appears in the comics alongside Daredevil. The character’s motivation is currently a mystery, but according to Marvel, Netflix’s Elektra have crossed paths with Daredevil before.

“She’s a mystery woman from Daredevil’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways, may be more than he can handle," the press release said.

The clip wraps up with the Punisher’s signature skull sign, which is shown in X-Ray film as Frank Castle eerily walks down the hospital corridor.

For the uninitiated, "Daredevil" is the prologue to the planned "The Defender" series by Netflix featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

“Daredevil” Season 2 premieres in 2016.
