“Dancing With The Stars” Season 21 got off to a kicking start on Monday. The dance reality show started with a two-hour long premiere where the 13 celebrity contestants and their pro partners performed cha cha, foxtrot, salsa, quickstep and jive routines.

Bindi Irwin and Nick Carter got the top scores of the night with their flawless dance moves. While Irwin is paired with Derek Hough, Carter has Sharna Burgess as his pro partner. Both the pairs were closely followed by Tamar Braxton and Carlos PenaVega, People reported.

The real life couple Carlos Pena Vega and his wife Alexa Pena Vega have been paired with different partners. But, both of them showed their dancing skills in the ballroom with their jive routines. Alexa trailed behind her husband with just one point difference in the score.

Meanwhile, Chaka Khan and pro Keo Motsepe danced to cha-cha got the lowest score of 12 out of 30 points with possibly the worst performance of the night. The 62-year-old singer forgot her dance moves mid routine, giving her the worst dance tag of the night, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Also Kim Zolciak-Biermann and pro Tony Dovolani got 13 out of 30 points, being placed at the end of the leader board. Their salsa was not enthusiastic enough for the audience or the judges.

There was also a little surprise on the premiere night. Alek Skarlatos and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold did the foxtrot. The National Guardsman was graceful and elegant in his moves, even though he had never heard of the dance form before he stepped into the DWTS bandwagon, TV Line reported. But, it remains to be seen how he does the more fast-paced routines. He scored a good 22 out of 30 points in his opening routine.
