'Curb Your Enthusiasm' season 9 leaked: Episodes 2-4 available online

The second, third and fourth episodes of the forthcoming "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 9 are now available for download from illegal torrent websites. The episodes were leaked by the hacker group that goes by the name of Mr. Smith; the group has already leaked a plethora of unaired episodes from ten different HBO shows.

After hacking into computers at Time Warner Inc.'s HBO, Mr. Smith leaked the fourth episode of "Game of Thrones" season 7 titled "The Spoils of War" before claiming access to 1.5 TB of data. According to Bleeping Computer, "the leak was advertised to selected journalists in the form of a Mega.nz link." Below is the summary of unaired episodes from HBO shows that have found their way to torrent websites.

• "Ballers" - season 3, episodes 4 to 10
• "Barry" - season 1, episodes 1 to 3
• "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - season 9, episodes 2 to 4
• "Insecure" - season 2, episode 4
• "Latino Shorts" - seven episodes
• "Room 104" - season 1, episode 6 to 12
• "The Deuce" - season 1, episode 4 to 7

According to The Guardian, HBO is not ready to panic. "(We are) not in communication with the hacker, and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in," said a spokesperson of the TV station.

While the cyber attack isn't as severe as the chaos that hit Sony Pictures in 2014, the hacker group leaked scripts from "Game of Thrones," besides sensitive internal documents such as job offer letters and personal e-mails shared between company employees. Avivah Litan, a cyber attack expert, believes HBO will eventually succumb to the hacker's pressure. “It’s kind of like kidnap and ransom and torture. Eventually HBO may have to give in.”

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 9 was set to air in the Fall of 2017 after Larry David & Co. wrapped up production in April. HBO has confirmed that the ten-episode ninth season will premiere Sunday, Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. ET. The comedy series would be returning for the first time since the eighth season aired in 2011.
