Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tomy Romo said he's feeling good after kicking off his offseason throwing program last week at Valley Ranch, a source close to situation reported on Tuesday.

Romo, who covered 3,828 yards with 31 touchdowns last season with the Cowboys, missed the final game of the regular-season due to a back injury. He underwent discectomy surgery last December and continued to make progress into the second week of the Cowboys' voluntary offseason program.

"I'm feeling good," Romo told ESPN's Tim MacMahon during the Dallas Mavericks-San Antonio Spurs NBA playoff game on Monday night.

Several weeks ago, there were concerns about Romo not going to be ready for the season opener. However, Cowboys officials pointed out the quarterback's progress is ahead of schedule and he will be in tip-top shape for offseason practices.

"When Romo underwent surgery there was immediate concern regarding his availability for the start of the offseason program. Cowboys officials said Romo should be ready for offseason practices and owner Jerry Jones said at the NFL owners meetings that the quarterback was ahead of schedule in his recovery process," according to ESPN.
