Country singer Joey Feek is on her deathbed as she is ailing from cervical cancer.

"I pray that one morning I just don't wake up. But I don't fear anything because I'm so close to God and we've talked about it so many times. I know he's close. And I know he loves me. I'm really at peace. I still believe there's healing in prayer," Feek opened up about her struggles in an emotional interview with The Tennessean.

The 40-year old singer is married to Rory Lee Feek and is the mother to 20-month-old daughter Indiana. Her close family and friends have been stepping in to inquire about her condition ever since she has been brought to her hometown Alexandria.

Joey was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May 2014. Despite undergoing several treatments, including radical hysterectomy, additional surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, her tumour regrew. The doctors announced that Joey had only six months to live after the family chose to stop cancer treatment in October.

Rory has been giving regular updates about Joey’s condition on his blog This Life I Live. Joey and Rory have tried all they could to overcome Joey’s illness but they could not supress the disease. However, Joey is trying to be as comfortable as she can be, she said in her latest interview.

“I’m doing all these alternative things and taking things I’ve never taken before, organic, all natural, and homeopathic, it can’t hurt. I’m doing all I can do to be more comfortable, she revealed during the interview.

Joey has been fighting the tumour with utmost courage and asked Rory to trim of her hair recently, a blog entry by Rory revealed. She also received support from her sisters and friends, who shaved off their hair.

Joey has apparently surrendered to the situation and has been shifted to her childhood home -- a white two-story farmhouse in Pottsville, Tennessee. Rory revealed that Joey has already given instructions to him about her funeral. A rough-cut wooden box with a cross on it has already been delivered to their farmhouse on Joey’s wish.
