The Food Standards Australia New Zealand has recalled two popular children’s lollypops after they were found to have been contaminated. Pieces of metal were found inside the My Little Pony and the Avengers Giant Pops variety of Park Avenue.

According to the FSANZ, the lollies are being recalled “due to the presence of foreign matter (metal).” The products are 180g and have a best-before date of July 1, 2020.

“Park Avenue Foods is conducting a recall of the above products. The products have been available for sale at Priceline stores nationally,” its website reads. The lollies are from China.

“Consumers should not eat these products and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.”

With Halloween just around the corner, it was expected that many parents and children have bought the lollipops from their local Priceline.

The My Little Pony and the Avengers Giant are the latest food products recalled. Last week, the FSANZ had also announced recall on the World Brand Importers’ Gourmet Shreds Cheddar and Gourmet Shreds Pizza for the undeclared presence of an allergen, which was milk. These were available for sale at IGA, Campbell’s and independent stores in QLD, VIC and Tasmania.
