Remember the movie "The Sound of Music?" where the nun-governess teaches kids the famous song Do-Re-Me which moved the audience for years. Your very own Carrie Underwood is now bringing back the 1950s hit classic to your television sets on Thursday night at NBC with "The Sound of Music Live." Check out what the audience has to say.

Based on Rodgers' and Hammerstein's movie, "The Sound of Music," the program stars Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, Stephen Moyer as Georg von Trapp, Laura Benanti as Elsa Schrader, Christian Borle as Max Detweiler, and Audra McDonald as Mother Abbess. It is currently trending on Twitter and people do not love Carrie so much as the other Grammy Award winning actress Audra McDonald who plays the role of Mother Abbess.

"I'm sorry but @AudraEqualityMc acting just single handedly brought HONESTY and integrity to this production #TheSoundOfMusicLive," writes one Twitter use David Singletary some time back.

However before you watch the live musical on television, keep in mind that it is not a remake of iconic movie. It's a televised version of the musical with no live audience actually! It will be a three-hour live show which will be reportedly shot on seven sets on Long Island, New York.

According to Hollywood reporter, "The Sound of Music Live" will approximately cost a whopping $9 million to wow the audience. The musical is created by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the same guys who were responsible for musical drama series "Smash" on television.

Here are some more Twitter reactions.

"People love Julie Andrews. People respect Carrie Underwood. People love to hate NBC. Consensus after #TheSoundOfMusicLive," writes Jeff Barret on Twitter about the musical.

Some people in audience however did not like the musical much.

"Can we just go to bed and pretend this never happened? #TheSoundOfMusicLive," writes The Theatre problems on Twitter.

"So glad I didn't watch #thesoundofmusiclive. Everyone in FB land & Twitter ville seems to hate it! Shame on NBC," writes Massiel Hernades on Twitter.

While others were in awe of Carrie Underwood.

"Now watching #TheSoundOfMusicLive --an incredible production. Wow NBC---awesome," writes Jules Gillard on Twitter.

The reactions from the audience are mixed since it is the first time that something like a movie-inspired theme is played live on national television. What is your take?
