NextGen.Net has announced the appointment of Tony Carn as its new sales director, with Greg Mitchell stepping in to fill a combined general manager of sales role at Homeloans.

Having left his previous role as gernal manager of sales at Homeloans Ltd earlier this month, Carn will be responsible for the growth of NextGen's ApplyOnline application processing platform.

Meanwhile, previous general manager of retail sales and seven-year veteran at Homeloans, Greg Mitchell, has taken on a role that integrates both retail and third party sales roles.

Speaking with Australian BrokerNews, Mitchell said the change would allow the business to establish one sales culture and team across the business, and that it would focus on both retail and brokers.

Mitchell said the business had a "very strong" BDM presence across Australia, and while Tony Carn had been a "valuable asset" , its profile in the broker market would not be impacted.

NextGen's CEO Adrian Macleod said Carn gained the role due to his mortgage industry experience.

"Having someone with Tony's level of experience is essential to understanding our customers challenges and ensuring the platform is directly addressing those challenges and delivering strong customer returns," he said.

Carn has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years across banks, non-banks, aggregators and mortgage insurers in sales, marketing and management roles.

Carn said he would be spreading the message about productivity gains that could be achieved via the ApplyOnline system, in an environment where the focus was on "the bottom line".
